Celebrate this year’s extended LOVE YOUR LOCAL MARKET campaign with the National Association of British Market Authorities.
Friday 13th May to Sunday 5th June 2022 #LYLM2022
An extended Love Your Local Market returns this May as markets join in the celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The campaign, which is now in its 11th year, attracts more and more support and is now celebrated around the world in over 24 countries.
The campaign this year has been extended to three weeks, full of market events, promotions and offers as markets join in the national celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and will run from Friday 13th May to Sunday 5th June 2022.
NABMA Chief Executive, David Preston explains: “Markets are still very much at the heart of our local communities and this year will be no exception as we join in the national celebrations.
“As people and communities become a key tool in economic revival and regeneration, far from being a thing of the past, modern markets are responding and innovating to meet local needs and consumer trends, as was evidenced at the height of the pandemic. NABMA is committed to the vision that markets have a key role to play in regenerating our high streets.
“With a focus on the rising cost of living and the environmental impact of our shopping habits, markets are seen as an economical, sustainable & practical way of combatting these challenges.
“This year, we are also very much focused on the theme of Celebration. As well as the Jubilee we want to celebrate the work that markets have done for local communities over the last two years and their importance now and in the future.”
This year’s UK theme is “Celebrate with your Local Market”. The main purpose of Love Your Local Market is to raise the profile of markets across the UK, encourage start-up businesses and increase young people’s involvement in markets. Markets across the country will be offering additional events, promotions, start-up offers and examples of innovation and enterprise.
As well as celebrating with consumers this year, NABMA will be aiming to get to the heart of what makes markets matter to their local communities and why people should show their appreciation for their local market.
Come and join in the celebrations and Love Your Local Market.
