Greenwich Market is set to celebrate Love Your Local Market 2026 with a packed programme of free events, live entertainment and family-friendly fun from Friday 15 May to Sunday 31 May.
An award-winning market with a history stretching back to 1737, Greenwich Market is once again joining the national Love Your Local Market celebration, highlighting the important role markets play in supporting independent traders, welcoming communities and bringing extra life to high streets and public spaces.
Throughout the fortnight, visitors can enjoy free live music from local performers, family entertainment during half term and a vibrant atmosphere in one of London’s most distinctive market settings. From jazz, soul and Latin rhythms to indie, ska and folk, the programme offers something different across the two weeks, alongside children’s activities including a magic show and face painting.
Adding to the celebrations, a brand new I ❤️ Greenwich Market installation will be unveiled from Wednesday 20 May. Designed as a large shopping bag overflowing with flowers, it will create a striking photo and selfie spot for visitors looking to capture their own Greenwich Market moment.
Shop, eat and enjoy a day out
Greenwich Market is home to a wide range of independent traders and local entrepreneurs, offering everything from one-of-a-kind jewellery and reimagined vintage pieces to handcrafted clothing, accessories, homeware and gifts. Whether visitors are browsing for something special or simply enjoying the atmosphere, there is always plenty to discover.
Food is also a big part of the Greenwich Market experience. Visitors can enjoy street food, satisfying snacks, delicious desserts and nearby places to eat and drink, making it easy to turn a market visit into a full day out.
Set in the heart of the UNESCO Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site, the market is also perfectly placed for families, visitors and local residents looking to combine shopping, entertainment and exploration in one visit.
