Located right in the heart of Oxford city centre, the world famous Oxford City Council Covered Market is home to over 50 specialist independent artisan traders, each selling their own unique variety of goods, as well as offering a wide selection of cafes and bars. The market dates back to the 1770s and has become famous for being one of the oldest continually operating markets in the country and is continually evolving. Every Thursday to Saturday we now open into the evenings. As well as shopping you can listen to live music, learn a skill, give your brain a work out at the newly launched Covered Market quiz night or join our traders at one of many regular socials including book clubs, crafts, talk nights or open mics to name a few. Over half of the nights are free too! A perfect way to join in, and feel part of a wonderful market community.
