Welcome to Shirehampton Markets and becoming part of our ‘Market Family.’

Each monthly High Street Market hold we always encourage and celebrate ‘Love Your Local Market’ as it plays a very important part with our local communities, our local High Street and it’s future.

Shirehampton Markets opened its doors with their first High Street Market on 5th September 2019 at the Tithe Barn (their original home for over six years until the building was sold). It came out of the ‘Shirehampton Community Plan’ where a market was a popular choice with local residents, which later became a reality after 9 months of research.

Our markets, Autumnal Christmas Fayre and unique events are run with the communities in mind and supporting our local High Street Shops. We will not provide products that compete with independent shops such as Wood Family Butchers, Gail & Mel’s Pet Supplies or Choice Carpets for example. We want to add Market Traders that sell items that are not available on our High Street such as clothes, personal care,  jewellery, plants, food selections, gift ideas, homeware, arts & crafts, toys, eco-friendly/upcycled/ethical/fair trade goods & more. We now have our own ‘Market Family’ where everyone looks out for each other and share laughter and lighter moments too.

Shirehampton Markets run the aforementioned events and are part of Shirehampton Action (formerly known as SCAF.) Both are community organisations, non-profit with Shirehampton Action being a registered charity. Ash Bearman (Community Development Officer with Shirehampton Action), Katherine Birth & Kathryn Courtney (both volunteers) are the Management Team, with additional volunteers on hand to help set up/take down the markets/fayre/events and any other duties required that day.

All our markets/fayre/events are for ‘the 4 villages & beyond’. They will always be ‘free entry.’ They are family & disability friendly not only for our customers but for our traders too. We also support & encourage small local business. Any questions please ask.

We run 10 High Street Markets a year from March until December, which take place the first Thursday of each month at the Methodist Church/Hub, High Street/Penpole Avenue, Shirehampton, Bristol, BS11 0LY, from 9am until 2pm.

We also run our popular Autumnal Christmas Fayre on a Saturday, in mid November and includes our Christmas Grotto with Father Christmas and Janet the Elf. It takes place at the Public Hall, Station Road, Shirehampton, Bristol, BS11 9TX, from 10am until 3pm.
