We celebrate Ely Markets and all our brilliant market traders all year round by running successful, popular, regular, vibrant markets every week. We highlight our traders with our “Trader Tuesday” feature every week on our social media. Each week one of our traders talks about their business and how they enjoy trading at Ely Markets.  We have now commenced our season of fantastic, popular, Ely Markets’ Foodie Fridays which take place on the last Friday of the month from Easter to August. Our next Ely Markets’ Foodie Friday is on Friday 29 May with a delicious smorgasbord of food from around the world and just up the road! With musical entertainment from Rich Young and Bel Canto, local performers bring their talents to the market to entertain our community.   In June we take part in Ely Arts Festival, and our June Foodie Friday is a celebration of local arts, entertainment and music with plenty of food to enjoy too.
We believe supporting and delivery of regular weekly local markets is an essential element of celebrating “Love Your Local Markets” fortnight. These are the backbone and very heart of our town centres and should be lauded and celebrated, not just for a few days a year but all year round.   Ely Markets, along with other local markets in towns up and down the UK, are a main factor in supporting and sustaining local small businesses and keeping town centres alive.
Special events and festivals are great, but it’s our regular markets that keep supporting small business and keep town centres vibrant!
