Brighouse Open Market

Ship Street, Brighouse, UK

The new Brighouse Open Market building opened in 2025, in the vibrant heart of Brighouse. We are proud to bring together local businesses, all in a modern and welcoming space. They offer everything from fresh, local produce to hot, delicious food and drinks, crafts, gifts and more.

Brighouse Market has been a key part of the town since 1902, originally located on King Street. It later moved to Bonegate in the 1950s, before settling on Ship Street following redevelopment in the 1970s. The new canal-side market marks the latest chapter in this long-standing tradition, combining heritage with a fresh, modern offer.

What You’ll Find:
Fresh, local produce – including butchers, fishmongers, confectioners and deli stalls
Street food and drinks – from global flavours to local favourites
Local crafts and handmade goods – unique items from independent makers
Café and bar – ideal for a relaxed breakfast, coffee or weekend drink

As part of the £19.1 million Town Deal investment, the new market has been designed to support both traders and visitors. It includes:
21 fixed stalls and 19 pop-up spaces
Seating areas to meet, relax and socialise
A flexible central space for events and activities

Brighouse Open Market continues to play an important role in supporting local businesses, bringing people together, and contributing to the town’s growing vibrancy.

We will be taking part in this year’s LYLM campaign across our social media channels.
