The Barnstaple Pannier Market boasts over 150 years of history, dating back to Saxon times, as a pivotal market town for the surrounding countryside. After a temporary closure in January 2023 for extensive renovations as part of the town’s Market Quarter regeneration project, the historic market reopened on 1 August 2023, flourishing with a diverse array of traders offering everything from fresh local produce to fashion, arts, crafts, plants, antiques and much more. Operating from Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm each week, the market invites the community to shop/buy/eat local! As part of Love Your Local Market, we will continue to encourage the local community to shop/buy/eat local and will continue showcasing the local treasures residents and visitors alike can find.
