2025 Photography Competition
As part of this year’s Love Your Local Market campaign, we’re inviting amateur photographers across the UK to capture the spirit of their local markets.
Markets are places where community, creativity, and commerce come alive — and we want to see your unique perspective. Whether it’s a bustling morning at the fruit stall, a handmade craft, or a heartfelt moment between a trader and customer, every image tells a story.
What You Could Win
We’ll be selecting three winning entries, each representing one of the core themes:
Community
Creativity
Commerce
Each winner will receive a £50 voucher to spend at their local market.
All photographs could also be featured on the Love Your Local Market website and social media platforms.
Key Dates
Competition opens: Friday 16 May 2025
Entries close: Sunday 8 June 2025
Winners announced: Thursday 12 June 2025 on the LYLM website

Please include your name, the name of the market where the photo was taken, and a short caption or description.
You can submit multiple photographs.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be reviewed by the Love Your Local Market team. Photos will be assessed based on:
Relevance to the competition themes
Creativity and originality
Emotional impact and storytelling
Visual quality (phone photos are welcome)
Important Notes
Only original photographs taken by the entrant are eligible.
You must have permission from any identifiable individuals in the photo.
For photos featuring children, parental or guardian consent is required.
By entering, you grant LYLM and NABMA the right to use your photo in future promotional materials, publications, and social media content.
Photos generated or enhanced with AI will not be accepted.
- The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.
