Driffield has a long tradition as a market town with the weekly market dating back to 1897. Since 2001 has had a thriving Thursday street market based in the centre of the town. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the unique mix of national retailers and small independent shops.
Traders come from both local areas and farther afield, offering a diverse range of products, including ladies’ clothing, sweets, fresh fruits and vegetables, outdoor plants and fresh flowers, gifts, toys, cheese, olives, Jams, pies, scotch eggs, fresh bread, craft beers, garden and house ornaments, healthy treats for dogs and much more. During the summer season, you can expect to see at least 20 stalls.
Varied stalls
The market operates as a “one-line” market, meaning that there is only one stall selling each specific type of product, which ensures a good variety. The Town Council also provides local community groups and charities with the opportunity to raise funds by hiring the charity stall, which has become very popular.
Our food traders will share samples/tasters to celebrate ‘love your local market’
